Position Description

As a DevOps Engineer at Housing.Cloud, you’ll design and maintain the systems and processes that enable our engineering team to deliver high-quality software efficiently. You’ll ensure the smooth deployment of new features, optimize system performance, and maintain the reliability of our infrastructure. Your contributions will ensure that Housing.Cloud continues to deliver an exceptional experience to educational institutions and their students.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Build, maintain, and optimize infrastructure using AWS, Vercel, and Cloudflare, ensuring high availability and scalability.

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and manage robust CI/CD pipelines with Vercel, enabling seamless deployments and minimizing downtime.

  • Monitoring and Alerts: Set up and maintain monitoring tools to track application performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively resolve issues.

  • Security Enhancements: Implement best practices for system and data security, including firewalls, access controls, and encryption protocols to protect sensitive information.

    Automation: Automate repetitive tasks such as infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and scaling to enhance efficiency.

    Database Management: Collaborate with backend engineers to optimize Supabase and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring real-time synchronization and reliability.

    Disaster Recovery: Design and maintain backup and recovery solutions to ensure business continuity in case of failures.

    Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to align DevOps strategies with development goals and ensure smooth integration between development and operations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering role, with a proven track record of managing and scaling infrastructure.

  • Expertise in AWS and its services, with a focus on building, maintaining, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure for scalability and reliability.

  • Proficiency in building and managing continuous integration and deployment pipelines, particularly using Vercel or similar tools.

  • Familiarity with Cloudflare for hosting, performance optimization, and implementing security features like firewalls and DDoS protection.

  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, including optimization and maintenance to ensure reliability.

  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages, and experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Proficiency with monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools to ensure application performance and availability.

  • Proven experience in implementing robust security measures, including role-based access control, encryption, and multi-factor authentication.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of AWS services, with experience in cloud-based scaling and distributed systems.

  • Familiarity with Cloudflare for backend performance, security, and load balancing

  • Experience with microservices architecture, with the ability to decompose a monolithic backend into scalable, maintainable components.Benefits
